Cross-Border Payments
International E-Wallets in China
Good news: if you already use a popular payment app in Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, or Mongolia, you may be able to pay directly in China — no extra app downloads needed.
How It Works
Many international e-wallets are now accepted by merchants across China through cross-border payment partnerships. The process is straightforward:
- Open your existing home payment app as you normally would
- Scan the merchant's QR code just as you would in your home country
- No registration with Chinese payment services is required

Which QR Code to Scan?
When paying, scan the QR code that carries the logo of your payment provider. For example, if your app partners with Alipay, scan the Alipay logo QR code displayed at the merchant.
